![]() Gun switch set to L1: only button left, feels comfortable to hit both shoulder buttons while shot-cancelling.įor Vergil I tried swapping style and gun switch, so that your trick is on the left hand, and you can tap Triangle/Circle to scroll through your weapons easily. ![]() ![]() I find it comfortable to mash the shoulder button on a DS4, depending on the controller you use this might not be a good option. Gun attack set to R1: this allows you to charge guns easily. You can give it the occasional tap in between attacks, and you can still hit it while buffering a style move. Weapon switch set to Circle: another weird one but my logic is you're not really going to be hitting weapon switch while you need to attack with Square, and you're never going to need to hold down the switch button either. Style set to Triangle: makes it easier to buffer style inputs while attacking with your weapon, which is key for gunslinger moves and the like. Weapon attack set to Square: I mainly do this so that jump cancels are easier. ![]() Jump set to X: don't fix what ain't broke. It can be weird using your middle fingers on a controller but by having simple inputs like lock-on and DT, you're not going to be mashing those buttons. Think of your left hand as movement, and your right hand as actions, so to do a stinger instead of thinking "right hand lock-on, left hand forward, right hand attack", you're thinking "left hand lock-on and forward, right hand attack", seems like a subtle difference but your brain will appreciate the change.ĭevil Trigger set to R2: you're going to want to hold down DT a lot to get DTEs and this puts it out of the way. Lock-on in DMC is very important as a movement option and I find that controlling lock-on with the same hand that controls movement makes everything feel a lot smoother. Lock-on set to L2: this is probably the weirdest change I made but once you get used to it it's extremely comfortable. ![]() When I used a dualshock, this was my layout (with middle fingers on R2/L2): If not, you might want to get comfortable with putting your middle fingers on the triggers, this allows you to buffer extra inputs and makes figuring out your button layout a lot easier. Ideally you would want to use a controller with back buttons. This game is definitely designed with a controller in mind. ![]()
